Financial Management Programme Stage 1

Stage 1 of the HOSPA Professional Development Programme in Financial Management provides the first step to pursuing a career in business and finance in the hospitality sector. The course content is based on best practice in the sector and follows the guidance and recommendations of the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (2014 edition). This level of study includes:

Introduction to Accounting concepts
Double entry book keeping
Preparation of trial balance and adjustments
Compiling the Income and Expenditure Account, Balance sheet and Cashflow
Internal audit and Control

There are three levels of study available and successful completion of all three stages leads to Certified Associate Membership of HOSPA enabling members to use AHOSPA Cert (FM) in their business correspondence. This award confirms that the member has the skills and knowledge to manage a hospitality finance department.

The cost of the course includes course materials, access to the online learning space and examination fees.
