Jan Jansen talks pandemic preparedness and future innovation in Percipient’s first ever hospitality podcast series.
Business software consultancy, Percipient, today announced details of its first ever hospitality podcast series. Focused on The Future of Hospitality Finance, each episode will feature a different guest from the industry, take a wander through their CV, and explore some of the key challenges being faced by FDs and finance professionals right now.
As well as taking a close look at the best examples of innovation and digitalisation, the series will be finding out the industry’s key predictions for the next three, five and even 10 years, and discuss what role the finance function will play within hotels in the future. Episode 1.
The first episode sees Percipient’s Managing Director, Chris Stock, talk to Jan Jansen, Group Operational Controller for a luxury travel brand, about how his role has changed throughout the pandemic; how he manages to stay on top of the evolving crisis; and the key challenges being faced by the industry as a whole in 2022.
“Recording this podcast was not only great fun, but a brilliant opportunity to reflect on how far we have come in navigating some of the challenges brought about by the pandemic in the last two years,” Jan comments. “One area which stood out was the increasing importance of digitalisation in the smooth running of our operations. For example, the fact that we [had our systems] up and running before the pandemic started gave us the opportunity to almost instantly analyse our business and see where our costs were going, so we could quickly make decisions on how we would actually get through this pandemic.”
